THE CHARACTER OF THE JAVANESE PAST & PRESENT

 In several reports coming from China and Europeans, the character of the Javanese (Majapahit) is so arrogant and haughty, they like to go to war over trivial matters. If another nation goes ahead or walks over it (on hilly ground) then that person is dragged away, if they don't accept it, they will be killed at once. At least he doesn't like his head being held, he doesn't like his women being teased, he likes showing off his wealth, his body and even his horse's horse usually have gold jewelry attached to it. In short, the Javanese from the Hindu-Buddhist era were very fierce and deadly. 

Furthermore, when they entered the Islamic era, the Javanese's character apparently changed, they said they were soft, they were no longer aggressive, they liked to give in, even though their deadly nature was still there, it was proven that the Javanese during the Islamic era and to this day appear dominant in politics and other things. 

Why can the character of Javanese people change drastically from a fierce attitude to a humble attitude?

Mimin suspects that the fierce character of Javanese people during the Majapahit era was more or less influenced by several factors, including the food they ate. Nowadays, Javanese people usually drink palm wine, Ciu, eat dog meat, wild boars, snakes, cockroaches, bats and other things that cause the blood to rise, so that their joy is visible. Meanwhile, during the Islamic era, Javanese people no longer ate such foods, so their enthusiasm gradually disappeared. 



For example, certain ethnic groups who drink palm wine, ciu or the like every day and then usually eat the meat of dogs, wild boars, snakes and even monkeys will have a violent attitude, especially when speaking and acting.
